Left to fend for himself, Chris is exposed to harsh realities from a young age: alcoholism, drug abuse, violence and even death. He faces traumatic physical, mental and emotional abuse, as well as life-threatening encounters with knives and guns.Turning to music and friendships, Chris finds respite from the grim unknowns of his daily life. The book chronicles his traumatic past all the way through present day, depicting a dark path that pushes at the boundaries of human experience. But ultimately it is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
